The Jack McDonald Memorial Award was established in 1996 to honor the memory of the former Waltham High School and Waltham Boys Club coach. Jack was a founding member of both the Eastern Massachusetts Swim Coaches Academy and the Eastern Massachusetts Swim Officials Association. Jack retired in the early 1990s to care for his wife who had been Massachusetts Swim Coaches Hall of Fame, Class of 1991 and passed away in 1995 following his own battle with cancer. This award is presented annually to a coach, official, or administrator who exhibits the qualities of fairness, dedication, and respect for High School Swimming that marked Jack’s life and career.
